1. The service

Ox & House is a marketplace where creators publish digital newspapers, magazines, and zines. We provide the website, accounts, Stripe payment integration, and edition delivery on the creator's behalf.

The creator named on a publication is the seller of its paid editions. A creator may sell in their own name as a sole proprietor or through a business.

2. Buying editions

Paid editions are one-time purchases processed by Stripe. A purchase gives you personal access to read that edition. It does not transfer copyright or allow you to redistribute the edition.

You can read the edition immediately after purchase. We email your purchase confirmation before access starts.

The creator is responsible for the edition, its description, customer support, and applicable consumer obligations. See our refund policy if something goes wrong.

3. Publishing and selling

Creators are responsible for their content, the right to sell it, taxes, invoices, registrations, refunds, and other obligations that apply to their sales.

Stripe collects and keeps the creator's identity, business, bank, tax, payment, and payout information. Creators must keep that information current in Stripe.

Ox & House keeps 5% of each sale. Stripe's processing fees are separate. Refunds, disputes, balances, and payouts are managed through the creator's Stripe account.

Ox & House does not sell ranking or give creators preferential placement for payment. Creators can see simple sales totals here and detailed payment information in Stripe. We share buyer and transaction data only as needed for delivery, support, refunds, legal duties, and operating the service.

4. Accounts and acceptable use

Keep access to your email secure. Do not use Ox & House unlawfully or deceptively, infringe another person's rights, interfere with the service, manipulate transactions, or upload harmful content.

You keep ownership of content you submit and give Ox & House permission to host, display, process, deliver, and promote it as needed to operate the marketplace.

5. Moderation and accounts

We may remove content or restrict an account for illegality, a breach of these Terms, infringement, fraud, security, or payment problems. Where required, we will explain the decision and how to challenge it. You can report illegal content or email [email protected].

Email support to close your account. We normally give creators 30 days' notice if we end their access, unless law, security, fraud, or repeated breaches require faster action. Some purchase and transaction records may be retained where needed for access, legal duties, or claims.

6. Changes and law

We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We normally give creators at least 15 days' notice of material changes, and longer when they need more time to adapt. Changes required by law or needed to address an urgent danger may take effect sooner.

Austrian law applies without taking away mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence.
